Watercolour Workshops, Painting Holidays, Weekly Watercolour Courses tutored by Stephen Martyn

It's always a pleasure to meet new people and introduce them to the joy of watercolour painting, and of course, it's also great to renew old aquaintances. Whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced artist I’m sure you will find something interesting and enjoyable among the following events. Throughout the year I lead a variety of workshops suitable for both beginners and more experienced artists. Workshop topics include watercolour painting, pen and wash, sketching and drawing.

My own workshops are held in various picturesque locations around the West Norfolk area. The next one will be on the weekend of 4th and 5th September, and will be based in the historic Hanseatic part of King's Lynn. This will provide a wealth of sketching subjects, including the quayside of the River Ouse, as well as the picturesque buildings and corners on the old town. We'll be working outside in sketching media such as pen and wash, but there'll be opportunities to work indoors too. If you would like to join me please contact me as soon as possible to register your interest, as places are limited. The price for the weekend is £95 including a picnic lunch on both days.

In the spring and summer I am tutoring several workshops at  West Norfolk Arts Centre  at Castle Rising, near King's Lynn,  however I'm afraid these are now all fully booked for this year.

In the autumn, I will be tutoring two one-day workshops at Unique Cottage Farm Studios near Spalding in Lincolnshire. The first of these in on Friday 8th October and will feature the popular medium of pen and wash. Following on from this, on Friday 5th November, there will be a chance to try exciting big brush techniques in watercolour. Both these workshops cost just £40 for the day, and run from 10am - 4pm. Weekly courses

For those living within reach of the West Norfolk area I tutor weekly watercolour courses at West Norfolk Arts Centre, Castle Rising, King’s Lynn.  There are three groups, catering for different levels of ability, ranging from complete beginner to more experienced artists. Walking and Painting holidays

Amble along picturesque footpaths, pausing to sketch and paint. These take place at Casa Ana, Ferreirola, in the Spanish Alpujarras, near Granada. A wonderful location in one of the most inspiring landscapes Spain has to offer.  You can find more information here.
